This week we are actively celebrating the global contributions of Italian Space, as the second satellite of the 𝗖𝗢𝗦𝗠𝗢-𝗦𝗸𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 will be launched with a SpaceX Falcoln9 rocket 🚀
in Florida on January 27th!
The COSMO-SkyMed is the first dual-use satellite constellation committed to environmental and territory monitoring, security, and emergency management. The data collected by the COSMO-SkyMed Earth observation radar satellites provides useful information both to support the daily lives of all citizens and to protect and preserve our planet.
COSMO-SkyMed is a constellation owned by the Agenzia Spaziale Italiana and the Ministero della Difesa. The second generation of COSMO-SkyMed has been brought to fruition by the continuous collaboration of Thales Alenia Space and Telespazio Spa.
